King of the Tech Twins

So, the King of the Tech Twins will be arriving in town tomorrow. Hooray!!! New computers. Let's just hope that he works a little faster than usual and can actually get our system up and running for Monday morning.

I will be there....just filing to make sure he doesn't lose his focus. I think I can keep him on task.

Busy week so I really don't want him to dilly dally around and waste our time. Things really must be up and running.

I have massive amounts of filing to do anyway. Did most of the computer work today. Now I need to file away the remnants of the work.

Ferny called just to say howdy and wonders when we can get together. He's so silly. I have been avoiding him for ages and he just never gives up. I think we'll get together for some martini's. He has a new car...blah blah blah....Mercedes...blah blah blah. He's known me for more than 10 years and still doesn't get it. The car does not make the man. I will have to deal with this somehow. Although he is fun to play with sometimes.

Well, time to finish the dishes and say a little prayer that the King will get my stuff hooked up and it will be working. Please!

J-Lo's Ass

I've returned from my work weekend and in the other room the tv is on and all I can hear is a man talking about J-lo's ass and how it but not her came in #11 on the countdown. I just think to myself...how sad that her butt made the countdown but she didn't.

I also worry that women love the way Collin Farrell looks like he doesn't bathe......eeeeeewwwwww!!! Wash that ass. I guess the times have changed. I mean I like a guy that may look a little rough but for goodness sake they had better wash their ass!

I have to turn this silly countdown off, because it's making me insane...not a long long trip.

I accomplished a lot today. Ran checks all day except when I lost the server....but I was able to get it restarted. I can't wait for the computer update...hopefully the system will be more stable. I curse the tech twins when the server goes down.

Printed all invitations and RSVP cards for the casino show. I'll get those mailed out tomorrow.

Entered remaining promotions onto the portal and they are ready to have the actuals applied.

All in all a very productive weekend. I feel as if I have contributed to the gross national product. I have meaning.

Getting busier - after the holidays

Now that the silly season is over....I thought I would have a slight lull before the next storm, but no such luck.

Now we are working on 5 different shows over the next 30 days....eeeeekkkkkk!!! One of the shows we're actually sponsoring. This is so much work to coordinate. I'm so glad that I have Cheryl to help with the paperwork especially with all the technical problems lately.

If we can get through the end of February, it should slow down and we should be able to coast for a little while....before the next flurry of shows.

When will it ever end?

When will we ever get our new computers? It's getting pretty old not being able to convert files any longer and having to forward file attachments to computers that actually work or having the tech twins convert files for me.....the ultimate humiliation.

The Raj is letting me know that genweb will be a pain on check reconciliation. I had to tell her that the tech twins said we weren't getting that in Nor Cal. She was shocked and astounded. She'll touch bases with the leader of the twins to find out for sure. I hate to always have to remind everyone that we are the redheaded bastard stepchildren and get only hand me downs. We also are kept completely in the dark until absolutely necessary to be provided with any kind of information.

We will muddle on through, it's what we do best in the satellite offices. I can't wait to see what the new systems will bring. I'm getting a little nervous hearing about the problems Sou Cal is having.

Another Day

My New Year's resolution to myself was to make an effort to not work so many hours. So far, I am an incredible failure.

I have told myself each morning that I will leave the office by 3 or 4 at the very latest. I have succeeded in leaving at 6:50, 6:15 and 6:38. Not a good start to this year. Thank goodness tomorrow is another day. I will get to the point when I leave after only 8 hours of work.

I tell my employees that their work will wait for them. I will also learn to listen to myself....some day.

Crazed emailers

So, an employee of mine made the mistake of giving her internet dating buddy her work email address. Well of course, said internet dating buddy turned out to be a complete psycho and emails her constantly providing long dissertations on everything under the sun particularly that state of US women today, and how feminism has ruined what used to be "good women".

I have since had to get involved and had his original email address blocked....to no avail. He just got a new screen name. I then sent him a very respectful email asking him to please cease and desist from the constant harassment.

What did that get me you ask? Now he emails me with long dissertations on the values of American women in the workplace. What a head case.

I wish he would get a life and stop the constant deluge of email propaganda.
